Graphite Design Shafts in Two US Tour Wins

Kuchar and Langer carried the torch for Graphite Design by playing their shafts in drivers and fairway woods this past weekend.  Kuchar played the Tour AD MD-6 and MD-7 in his driver and fairway wood, and Langer continued to play the Purple Ice 85 in his driver and Purple Ice 95 in his fairway wood.  These are both stiff-tip shafts with low spin characteristics.  The MD-6 is a 68 gram shaft and the Purple Ice 85 is an 86 gram shaft so you notice that different weight shafts work for different players depending upon their unique swing characteristics, feel and desired ball flight.

Graphite Design, the most dominant shaft on the Japanese Tour, also had a first place finish in the Japan PGA Tour last weekend with their Tour AD EV shaft (Japanese model) and a prototype shaft made specifically for Hideto Tinihara.

Kaymer Wins PGA Championship with FUBUKI Wood Shafts

Making a statement with solid driving and fairway wood play, Martin Kaymer won his first major using the Fubuki 70 Alpha in his driver and Fubuki 73 Tour shafts in his fairway woods.  The Mitsubishi Rayon FUBUKI (meaning "blizzard" in Japanese) comes in two models with different tip characteristics for higher or lower launch conditions to optimize distance.  The very low torque and tight manufacturing tolerances of this shaft make it a great choice for those players seeking more distance while maintaining accuracy.
D'Lance Golf carries and fits a wide variety of Mitsubishi Rayon premium shafts including the FUBUKI, Kai 'li, 'ilima and poplular Diamana series

Project X Graphite Wood Shafts Win The Open

Talk about driving it on a string.  With PX X6B7 shafts in his driver, 3W and 5W, the winner of The Open hit 83% of fairways on his way to his first major win.  The new Project X shafts come in two versions:  The standard Project X in roughly 60 gram weights and the new Tour Standard in various weight and tip profile categories.  The Tour shafts are known as "spin killers" and are particularly suited for humid, windy conditions.  D'Lance Golf can help you select the right Project X graphite shaft, a brand of True Temper.  D'Lance Golf Performance Center is a True Temper Performance Fitting Center.

Stricker Wins John Deere Classic with UST Mamiya

The winner of the John Deer Classic used a number of shafts from UST Mamiya.  His driver was a Titleist 909D3, 8.5 degree with a UST Mamiya Proforce V2 86-gram shaft.  His 3 wood was a Titleist 906F2 3-wood, 13 degree with a UST Mamiya Proforce V2 96-gram shaft and his hybrid had the UST ProForce V2 Hybrid 104.

That cool blue shaft Jim Furyk was playing in his Callaway driver to win the Verizon Heritage was the OBAN Devotion 7, a 75 gram, stiff tip shaft. This is the second win for the OBAN Devotion shaft in 2010 and the 7th win for a Callaway Driver!  D'Lance Golf can fit YOU in the right OBAN shaft for YOUR swing..whether it is the Devotion, Revenge or Tour Prototype.  And just to remind us why we play golf the way we do, the second place finisher called a penalty on himself...the way golf is supposed to be played!!

Lighter Shafts hit the PGA Tour

As a fitting concept, at D'Lance Golf Performance Center, we want you to play the lightest, longest, softest flexing shaft that you can control.  We have even gone to the extent of putting our customers in 47 1/2" drivers with 45 gram shafts as long as we can lighten up the swing weight by using heads that have removeable weights like the Alpha V5LX, and TaylorMade R9 SuperTri or some of the older TaylorMade models.  Well, in the search for even more distance, this phenomenon has hit the PGA tour.  Tiger, who usually plays an 83 gram shaft, swithched to a lighter 75 gram shaft at The Masters.  While this does not sound like much, the 10% lighter shaft weight can improve distance by helping generate higher club speeds.  The longer shaft could, however, create more inconsistent contact so each golfer should make their own decision based upon the need for accuracy and control versus distance.  Here is an article on the new, emerging light weight shafts done by Golfweek. If you want to get more distance and still maintain your accuracy, give us a call and we will dial you in!

KBS Steel shafts finally topped the leaderboard at the World Golf Championships at Doral.  The winner used the KBS Tour X-Flex shafts in his irons en route to a 4 stroke victory over 68 of the best players on tour.  The winner hit 69.4% GIR (T2) and had 23 total birdies (1st).  This marked the champions first win in 2 years.  D'Lance Golf uses KBS Steel shafts in its fitting center primarily because of the consistency of the shafts and flexibility in fitting golfers of a variety of abilities.

True Temper Domination Continues:

Delivering accuracy and consistency, Dynamic Gold shafts by True Temper scored double victories for the second weekend in a row. True Temper won both the Waste Management Phoenix Open on the PGA TOUR and the Panama Claro Championship on the Nationwide Tour.

The Phoenix Open champion played Dynamic Gold shafts to capture his second career PGA TOUR victory and moved into sixth-place in the FedEx Cup standings. Overall, True Temper dominated the shaft count at the desert tournament with 125 sets in play and was played by nine of the top 10 finishers.

Meanwhile, this week's Nationwide Tour winner trusted Dynamic Gold shafts in his irons to win the Panama Claro Championship, his fourth Nationwide Tour victory.

Featuring a high-flex, tour weight design, Dynamic Gold steel shafts are the top-selling steel shaft in golf and are preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. True Temper’s Project X shaft is another successful brand which is well-known a providing a dedicated constant taper rate per inch for each shaft in the set. Longer taper rate results in more energy transfer to the ball and the ball gets up faster and flattens out for a penetrating trajectory. Dynamic Gold shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods, while Project X steel shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons.

Feedback from the PGA Tour representatives that fit the best players in the world along with suggestions from the world's best clubfitters like D'Lance Golf that fit all levels of golfers on a daily basis provided the inspiration for DYMATCH from ACCRA.  Following the progressive weighting technique that D'Lance Golf has been using for over 10 years, the DYMATCH system now offers shafts for drivers, fairway woods and hybrids that become progressively heavier from driver to hybrid.  The secret to the DYMATCH system is that the tip sections in the shafts maintain their torque ratings and tip profiles so that the feel and performance of the shafts are the same from driver through hybrid.  The DYMATCH system will come in three weight classes starting with:
Series 1-55 gram driver, 65 gram fairway, 75 gram hybrid,
Series 2
