WITB: Allisen Corpuz, 2023 US Women’s Open Winning Equipment

With assistance from LPGA, Ping, US Women’s Open and Golf Digest, we detail Allisen Corpuz’s winning equipment and expect to see her atop another LPGA event soon.

  • Driver: Ping G430 LST 10.5 degrees with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 5S shaft.
  • Fairways: A Ping G430 Max 15-degree 3-wood with a Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-6 SR shaft. A G430 Max 18-degree 5-wood with the Graphite Design Tour AD DI-6 S shaft. And, she also plays a Ping G410 22-degree 4-hybrid with a Alta CB 70 shaft.
The new Ping G430 woods were designed to deliver accurate, longer distances. Regardless man or woman, the new face-design increases face flexing to gain that distance more consistently. Viktor Hovland, Jason Day, Matt Fitzpatrick have won with Ping on the PGA Tour. Countless LPGA Tour winners trust PING as well.

  • Irons:  The Ping i230 5-iron through PW with the Nippon Modus 105 S shafts.
  • Wedges: Ping Glide 4.0 50-, 54-, and 58-degree wedges also with the Nippon Modus 105 shafts.
Corpuz’s consistent use of the same shafts for wedges as irons follows our recommended approach to shafting wedges. The reason – increased consistency from Pitching Wedge through Lob Wedge. Wedge heads tend to be heavier than irons, naturally creating more feel with the heavier weight. But off-the-shelf shafts can skew swing weights without custom build, especially for women golfers.
  • Putter: Ping 2021 DS 72 (similar to Hovland’s winning Ping putter).
